Attorney Billy Sun, Partner at Pontis Law, was invited to serve as a lecturer for the “2025 Professional Training Program for Promoting Private Participation in Public Infrastructure Projects.” The Department of Civil Servant Development of the Taipei City Government hosted the “2025 Professional Training Program for Promoting Private Participation in Public Infrastructure Projects.” On August 13, 2025, Attorney Billy Sun, a partner at our firm, was invited as a lecturer for the session titled “Key Elements of Solicitation Documents and Investment Agreements.” He introduced the structure and model clauses of solicitation documents for PPP projects and shared practical experience from handling such cases. The session featured active participation and lively discussions from attendees.

Our Attorney Hank Chen Invited as Speaker on “Criminal Issues in Government Procurement” at the Taiwan Society of Construction Law Symposium Hosted by the Taiwan Society of Engineering Law The Taiwan Society of Construction Law held a Taiwan Society of Construction Law Symposium on December 18, 2024, inviting several seasoned experts and scholars in the field of engineering law to deliver keynote presentations. Our firm’s Hank Chen was honored to be among the invited speakers and delivered a lecture titled “Criminal Issues in Government Procurement,” where he introduced the criminal liability provisions under the Government Procurement Act and provided an overview of related offenses. The symposium attracted a wide range of participants and concluded successfully, receiving enthusiastic and positive feedback from the attendees.

Attorney Kevin Hsieh, Partner at Pontis Law, Invited as Keynote Speaker for the “Risk Management in Project Execution” Forum at the Launch Ceremony of the Procurement Integrity Platform for the National Freeway No. 1A New Construction Project On the afternoon of October 4, 2024, the Freeway Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications hosted the launch ceremony for the Procurement Integrity Platform for the “National Freeway No. 1A New Construction Project” at the Novotel Taipei Taoyuan International Airport Hotel. Our firm’s Partner, Attorney Kevin Hsieh, was invited to speak on “Key Rights and Obligations in Contractor Performance Management.” Through the exchange of insights among representatives from the public, private, and academic sectors, the event aimed to promote feasible risk prevention and management strategies throughout all stages of the project, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of the Integrity Platform in improving the quality of public infrastructure and reducing public skepticism. The event was a great success, drawing enthusiastic participation from professionals across the legal, academic, and industry communities.

Attorney Hung-Ming Hsieh, Partner at Pontis Law, assisted the National Bar Association of the Republic of China in joining the International Bar Association (IBA), marking an important milestone for the Taiwanese legal profession within the international legal community. In 2023, Our Partner, Attorney Hung-Ming submitted an application on behalf of the National Bar Association of the Republic of China to the International Bar Association (IBA) for admission as a Full Member Organization with voting rights, under the name “Taiwan Bar Association,” in his role as Chairperson of the International Affairs Committee. He also assisted in the successful and unanimous approval of the application during the IBA Council Meeting held on May 25, 2024, in Romania.
